Delete Your Storybutton Account
You can permanently delete your Storybutton account and the data attached to it at any time. There are two ways to do it.
Delete it yourself in the app
This is immediate and does not require contacting us.
- Open the Storybutton app on iPhone or Android.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
Your account and its content are removed straight away. The action cannot be undone.
Ask us to delete it
If you cannot access the app, email support@storybutton.com from the address on your account with the subject "Account deletion request". We verify that the request comes from the account holder, then delete the account within 30 days and confirm by email.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign in credentials
- Your email address
- Stories you recorded in the app, including the audio files
- Music and MP3 files you uploaded, including the audio files
- Albums and playlists you created, and the names you gave them
- Songs created in the AI Music Studio, including the audio files
- Podcasts and episodes saved to your library
- Your subscription record in our systems
What is kept, and for how long
- Purchase and billing records. Google Play and Apple hold the record of any subscription you bought, and our payments provider RevenueCat holds the matching receipt. We cannot delete these on your behalf. They are retained as long as tax and accounting law requires, normally seven years. To manage the subscription itself, use the subscriptions section of the Google Play Store or the App Store.
- Search terms. If you used "Search deeper with AI", the search term was logged so we can find gaps in our catalog. On deletion the term is unlinked from you and kept only as anonymous data that cannot be traced back to your account.
- Content on your SD card. Anything already written to a Storybutton SD card stays on that card. The card is yours and works without an account. To clear it, delete the files from the card using the app or a computer.
Cancelling a subscription is not the same as deleting your account
Cancelling stops future billing but leaves your account and content in place. Deleting your account removes the content but does not cancel an active subscription. If you want both, cancel the subscription in the Google Play Store or the App Store first, then delete the account.
